The match started with trepidation and errors from both sides, Warrington took the first initiative but a goal from Amelia Hall soon settled the nerves for Oldham. Oldham's defensive pressure was a force to be reckoned with and turned the ball over to allow the attack to get more chances. It was goal for goal until Oldham managed to score five unanswered goals, which took them into the lead after the first quarter 13-7. |

Tameside managed to scrape the lead in the first quarter 15 - 14. Second quarter Lucy Stevenson came to GS and Chloe Shepherd to GA. It was Tameside who scored the first 2 goals of the quarter, but then Oldham answered with 2 goals. Again there was nothing between the 2 sides and the players were playing under a lot of pressure to take care of every pass and make every goal count. Oldham scored 5 goals in a row during this quarter, but it wasn't enough to take them in the lead, they brought the score to a draw 25-25. Third quarter Oldham went back to the starting 7 and was first on the score board. Oldham applied a lot of pressure on the strong Tameside and continued to turn the ball over and on most occasions, scored off these, which allowed the red and blue side to creep into the lead taking the score to 40-37 to Oldham. Final push for both teams was the fourth quarter and it was important Oldham were composed. Oldham did just that and made some clear decisions and scored from most centres and turnovers. This allowed Oldham to move further into the lead with the final score 53-45. "It was a great performance from both teams, Oldham managed to stay composed and stick to the game plan, which saw us go into the lead and maintain it till the end". Oldhams U14s earned their place at the National Finals to be held in Birmingham on 27/28th May with a stunning 40-19 win in the regional semi final V local rivals Tameside.

Some harsh realities fed to the team at half time from coach put Oldham back into the swing and quarter 3 saw Oldham surge ahead with both shooters Alex Martin GS and Captain Berri Neil GA shooting 100% and defenders Millie Marsden, Kasmin Narnorand Frankie Southern forcing Tameside into numerous errors. It was the same for Oldham, who rested Kerry Almond after the previous evening’s Thunder match and they were also without Kathryn Turner, following her wedding a few days earlier. The home team started strongly with Amelia Hall at goal attack quickly getting into the action, taking advantage of some excellent feeds from Gabby Marshall and Maria McAndrew. Amy Clinton found her range early in the game and the scene was set. Three excellent turnovers by Emma Dovey also contributed to a quarter time score of 18-10. The second quarter was much the same, with the Oldham centre court finding the shooters with ease. Amelia Hall was giving the Oaksway Goal Defence a torrid time and Susie Armstrong at Goal Keeper was starving their shooters of scoring opportunities. At half time Oldham led 41-19. Quarter three saw Krista Enziano take to court, with Amy Clinton moving to Goal Attack. Abby Tyrrell moved from wing defence to goal defence, Maria McAndrew from wing attack to centre and Amy Neil took the wing attack bib. Enziano, as always, was lethal with the long bomb shots, but Oldham struggled to adjust to the changes and lost the quarter 11-16. After suffering a defeat last week Oldham were determined to come out with a win especially after losing to Trafford in the first round of the season. Oldham extended their lead with the half time score 43-12 Third quarter Amelia Hall came back on at C, Joely Ferris at WD, Chloe Shepherd to GA and Lucy Stevenson to GS. Oldham kept the same team on the court for the final quarter and the superb defensive unit of Mallinder, Muamba and Diamond kept Westmorland to just 10 goals in the whole game. The attacking unit of McKee, McDermott, Krishna and Rattigan shown their speed and agility to bruise the Westmorland defence by scoring 41 goals
The game ended 41:10 An awesome display cementing Oldham’s place in the North West Region Semi Final Oldham played host to London based, New Cambell, in a top of the table clash between two experienced teams. With Oldham holding pole position in the league table and New Cambell hot on their tails, it was all to play for.
The start was littered with unforced errors from the home team, who struggled to find any kind of momentum. Fortunately for Oldham, New Cambell also made mistakes and the low scoring quarter ended with Oldham holding a slender 10-9 lead, thanks in the main to a solid performance from Kerry Almond in defence, with an impressive 4 turnovers in the quarter. Coach, Debbie Hallas, reorganised the team, introducing Amelia Hall to WA, moving Maria McAndrew to Centre and Gabs Marshall to Wing Defence. This had an immediate impact and Oldham scored three quick goals. However, New Cambell replied with three goals of their own and the quarter was going goal for goal. With the scoreline standing at 20-19 Oldham began to slip through the gears. Some excellent through court play, stemming from Emma Dovey and Gabs Marshall in defence, through to Maria McAndrew and Amelia Hall, was providing Shooters, Kathryn Turner and Krista Enziano with more opportunities. The latter found her range with her trademark long bombs, to give Oldham a 28-20 lead heading into half time and earned her the player of the match award. Oldham Netball Club’s premier league side travelled down to Guildford based The Downs on Sunday and came away with a hard fought 49-41 win. Oldham finally had Gabby Marshall, Amy Clinton and Iona Darroch back from England U21 duty, which came a welcome boost to coach Debbie Hallas after having a depleted squad since December. Oldham started strongly, racing out into a lead that would prove insurmountable for the home side, at one point scoring 7 unanswered goals. The Oldham defensive unit of Kerry Almond, Emma Dovey, Marshall and Maria McAndrew were forcing errors from the home side and taking intercepts at will, for Krista Enziano and Kathryn Turner to slot home. Oldham were running things in the first period, with Amelia Hall proving elusive for The Downs defence to catch. Oldham took a 14-7 lead at the break.
