Player of the Match: Laura Mallinder for awesome defensive display.
Oldham played their final league game of the under 16s Regional season against Westmorland pushing to reach the semi-final of the regional championship

Both teams started the game slowly with the defences being dominant resulting in 4 minutes of play before the first goal was scored. Westmoreland scored the first goal of the game before Oldham 6 consecutive goals.  The first quarter ended 6:2 in Oldham’s favour

Oldham started the second quarter with more purpose and pace and were soon leading 10:2 before Westmoreland scored their third goal.  The defensive partnership of Mallinder and Muamba was now showing its dominance.  The half time whistle brought the game to an end 16:5

Oldham made changes to the shooting partnership at half time and brought Jaya Krishna into the game at goal attack to partner Keegan Rattigan at GS.  Oldham seemed to settle into the second half of the game with a degree of ruthless execution and were soon leading the match 25:6.  The end of this quarter saw the game with Oldham leading 31:7
Oldham kept the same team on the court for the final quarter and the superb defensive unit of Mallinder, Muamba and Diamond kept Westmorland to just 10 goals in the whole game.  The attacking unit of McKee, McDermott, Krishna and Rattigan shown their speed and agility to bruise the Westmorland defence by scoring 41 goals

The game ended 41:10

An awesome display cementing Oldham’s place in the North West Region Semi Final
