Oldhams U16s become North West Regional Champions for the third time in a row after a thrilling final in front if a large crowd at the Thunderdome on Saturday. Oldhams oldest junior squad who were already crowned National Champions last year a year young at U15 s will now compete at the national finals on 24th & 25th May in London in a hope to retain their title. |
Although Oldham took an early lead in the first quarter 18 - 14 Tameside continued to fight back putting pressure on Oldhams attack to try and stop the feed to Oldhams England U17s shooter Amy Clinton.
All was even going into the last quarter and Oldham stepped up a pace taking 6 interceptions and scoring seven goals on the run which led Oldham to a victorious 62 - 56 win over Tameside .
