Oldham started the game with real conviction and purpose and soon a had a 4:2 lead breaking the Didsbury centre and scoring from the restart. With Keegan Rattigan forming an effective shooting partnership with Nancy Holden, Oldham were soon in control of the game at 11:2. Taking their foot of the pedal slightly gave Didsbury a glimmer of hope with the quarter ending 11:5. Quarter 2 saw Alisha Willey enter the game at Goal Shooter with Keegan dropping deeper to Goal Attack. Keegan continuing her excellent shooting performance scoring 5 from 5 with Alisha scoring a further 5 goals gave Oldham a commanding half time lead of 21:8. Quarter 3 saw Nancy Holden re-enter the game at Goal Attack with Keegan moving back up to Goal Shooter. This partnership returned an incredible 15 goals from 17 shots. Oldham were on fire. During quarter 4 Oldham kept their focus, drive and maintained their awesome shooting performance which saw another 17 goals from just 19 shots bring the game to an end at 53:14. |
There was no doubt the shooting excellence from Oldham allowed them to dominate the game but that was only made possible the sterling defensive work of Cusack, Mallinder, Parker and Diamond with through the relentless speed and attacking excellence provided by Ferris, McKee and McDermott.
