Strong defence from Hannah, Ella and Chiara; good linking play from the middle trio of Helena, Lily and Louise and shooters Imogen, Emma and Rachael who all had an eye for goal. The great shooting combination of Rachael and Emma worked well and together they made some mature decisions about when to shoot and when to pass to the player in a better shooting position. They were fed skilfully by Lily, Louise and Imogen throughout all the matches with some quick passes which left the defenders standing. Constant interceptions by Helena at WD and Ella at GD stopped the opposition getting the ball into their half and amazing defensive play by Chiara and Hannah who, along with Ella, only let in 2 goals all tournament!!! 56 goals scored and 2 conceded! Exceptional skills shown up and down the court.

Half time 4-0 The second half the squad was changed and we dominated the game throughout, scoring another 6 goals. Final score 10-0 Shooting stat: Summer 85%, Daisy 50% and Kate 50%
Game 2 : – OLDHAM 11 V 0 BLACKPOOL Oldham dominated the game from the first whistle and first centre, a goal was missed. Lots of missed shots until they started banging them in, half time 5-0. Second half and the shooters were changed, we dominated throughout and another 6 goals were scored. Final score 11-0 Shooting stats. Summer 52%, Orla 0%, Daisy 66%
Game 3: – OLDHAM 13 V 0 SADDLEWORTH FIREFLIES Another game that didn’t really test us. Again lots of shots missed but 8 in in the first half. Half time score 8-0 Second half, we scored another 5 goals. No goals against us. Final score 13-0 Shooting stats: Summer 56%, Daisy 75% OLDHAM 8 V 1 CHESTER GLADIATORS As soon as we got on court we realised that chester would give us a good game and the girls all had to work hard. A couple of missed shots but we were 2 up when chester scored. Summer managed to secure another goal before half time, score 4-1. Second half, another 4 goals scored. Shooting stats: Summer 75%, Orla 100%, Kate 50%, Daisy 75%
semi final Oldham V Blackpool Blackpool Failed To Show Up On Court And Oldham Were Awarded A 7 – 0 Win And Were Automatically Through To The Final Final Oldham 9 V 4 Chester Gladiators 1st Half Summer Arzoni Gs Daisy Plevin Ga Zahra Mirza Wa Grace Hall C Elena Taylor Wd Amy Dale Gd Natalie Woolhouse Gk Oldham score the first goal from a Chester centre 1-0 Chester equalised 1-1 Summer scored again 2-1 Chester equalised 2-2 A tense few minutes and a tight game, then Oldham managed to settle down and with some sharp accurate passes into the circle we managed to secure a further 2 goals to take us to a half time score of 4-2. 2ND HALF (TEAM UNCHANGED) Chester changed round their squad and had a very tall shooter who luckily missed 4 shots. Oldham’s Summer and Daisy continued to accurately score goals. Chester managed to net another 2 in the closing minutes.

General Statistics Played four league games – winning three Vs Deeside Diminoes – Won 18:0 Vs Infernos – Won 16:1 Vs Tameside – Lost 7:8 Vs Saddleworth – Won 16:0 Played ‘Imagine8′ in the semi final and won 7:2 Played Tameside in the final and won 15:9 Shooting Satistics Hannah F – 41 from 57 = 72% Danielle – 38 from 52 = 73% Match Report Oldham Falcons (under 11s) took part in their third netball tournament of the season scoring 57 goals to win 3 league games but were narrowly beaten by Tameside 7:8 to finish second in Group C, this set up a semi final match against the Group D winners ‘Imagine8′ whom Oldham beat 7:2. The final would be a match that everyone in the crowd wanted to see – a repeat of the earlier fixture against Tameside. Oldham knew they would have to start the final with speed, determination and most importantly be clinical in their shooting and that’s exactly what they did – within the first three minutes of the final Oldham scored from each of their 4 centres and turned over 3 Tameside centre which along with the 100% shooting accuracy from Fletcher and Rhodes resulted in a commanding a 7:0 lead. The game was being played at an incredible pace and with Tameside finding some composure and beginning to score the half time whistle saw Oldham with an impressive 11:4 lead. Oldham kept their team unchanged going into the second half Oldham knew that if they scored from each of their centres then the third successive tournament victory of the season was within their grasp. Both Tameside and Oldham scored goals from each of their respective centres to make the game 14:8 however with one minute remaining Oldham broke and scored from the Tameside centre but Tameside immediately broke back bringing the game to an end at 15:9. Oldham’s two attacking players displayed very accurate shooting during the tournament with Fletcher 72% shooting accuracy, Rhodes with 73%

This setback seemed to strengthen the resolve of Oldham who came out battling against the Chester Chicks with a close fought win. Oldham went from strength to strength in their next 2 games with convincing wins against the Pink Leopards and Chaddy Park Magic. Oldhams semi final with Essex was very much dominated by Oldham with sound shooting by Jessie Holland (Goal attack) and Georgina Egan (Goal shooter) who maintained 100% shooting statistics. The goal scoring was bolstered by a sound defence with Elenor Flitcroft (Goal keeper), Mia Robinson (Goal Defence) and Olivia Woodcock (Wing defence) working solidly to keep Essex at bay. A much anticipated final resulted in Oldham continuing their domination with Alicia Scholes (Centre) and Olivia Gilbertson (Wing Attack) working well together with some marvellous interceptions which gave Oldham an added advantage resulting in a good win of 14 to 5. The full Oldham squad allowed a good rotation of players with all members making an effective contribution to all the games.
Winners U14’s Oldham TournamentWinners U15’s Oldham Tournament7 teams took part in a round robin of the U15s section of the tournament. First match saw this year’s U16s National winners play Tameside. A rocky first half ended with the score 6-3, but Oldham pulled it right back to win the match 7-6. Player of the match: Victoria Austin – for several interceptions Oldham played and rotated their full squad of 14 players throughout the day without loosing a single game. The girls worked hard at times against the wind and glare from the sun giving spectators a demonstration of great shooting, interceptions, passes and their use of the width of the court to help their play. It was a great day for all with visiting teams from as far south as Essex. Club manager Pamela Hazleton and coaches saw another victorious day for the club.
