Oldham v Tameside in the North West Under 14 Regional Final
Venue – the Thunderdome – Wright Robinson College Manchester
Oldham u 14 s were on first and started with a boom.
Three turnovers! Immediate turn overs from Suzy Armstrong, and Ellie Fitszhugh pushed Oldham into an early lead and they were 4 a 1 up after only 3 minutes.
GA Amelia Hall dominated Oldham’s attacking circle feeding Oldham’s 6 Ft Shooter Lucy Stevenson with ease.
Oldham’s Centre court players Morgan Evans and Bayley Whittaker both stole the ball from Tameside and helped to put Oldham further in front. Tameside stepped up their game but Oldham ended the first quarter 12. -6 up.
No changes for Oldham in quarter 2 and any mistakes made by Oldham in the first quarter were surely corrected as the side exploded down the court. WA Jasmine Newell was truly outstanding continually taking high balls and then perfect passing into the shooters.

Still no changes for Oldham but Tameside made a couple of effective changes. However it was not enough to overcome the strong Oldham side.

Oldham made changes in quarter 4 Hannah Dahou to WA and Olivia Brown to C. Hannah slotted 6/6 and C Olivia Brown made to intercepts and Oldham became regional champions with a final score of Oldham 52 Tameside 32.
The u14s will represent the North West in the National finals on 24/25th May at Redbridge in Essex.
Both 16 s and 14s are undefeated champions of NW England.
